Mission and Vision

Introduction

We believe that effective and ethical international engagement is the foundation for excellence in science, education, research, and healthcare. Our mission is to formulate and implement strategic, mutually beneficial relationships aimed at enhancing the global standing of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences (UMSHA) and establishing it as a trusted scientific and medical hub in the region. This approach will ensure that the academic community, clients, and patients benefit from global knowledge and innovations.

Focus Areas and Key Actions

Strategic Collaborations and Partnerships

Developing and managing a focused portfolio of strategic collaborations with international universities, faculties, hospitals, and educational-research centers, emphasizing UMSHA's priority areas such as Environmental Health, Non-Communicable Diseases, and Health Technology. These collaborations will be organized through MoUs and joint grants, with the performance of each partnership being evaluated annually.

Faculty and Student Exchange

Expanding academic exchange programs in the form of short-term courses, residencies, and graduate-level exchanges, as well as implementing Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) platforms to facilitate access to global knowledge for students, residents, and faculty without the need for travel.

Research and Innovation

Establishing and coordinating international research projects, leveraging the Avicenna Health Research Institute and other prominent research centers, defining standard protocols (including ethics, data, and quality control), and forming powerful consortia to attract competitive grants aligned with advancing global health.

International Scientific Events

Actively participating in promoting, organizing, and hosting international webinars, seminars, conferences, and symposia (both in-person and online), prioritizing the university's specialized fields and flagship national projects, in cooperation with relevant vice-chancellories.

Enhancing International Visibility

Promoting the university's academic, research, and student capabilities, as well as its unique cultural and scientific achievements, through the launch of a multilingual website, activity on international social media platforms, and the use of modern marketing methods. The goal is to solidify the position of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences as a leading international hub.
