The International Office of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences was established with the aim of developing international activities and expanding scientific cooperation with other countries. Since its inception, this office has provided a platform for attracting international students and developing joint educational and research programs.
With the establishment of the International Office, it has also been possible for students who have not been successful in being accepted to a state university to continue their studies. This office provides educational services with a limited capacity and with the aim of utilizing the scientific capacities of the university. Also, accepting students from other countries based on available fields is another activity of this office.
Establishment of an international branch
The International Branch of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences, headed by Dr. Mohammad Taghi Samadi, was established with the aim of accepting tuition-paying students who have not been accepted to a national university, with a limited capacity and after confirming their academic status. This unit also created a basis for accepting students residing abroad based on the available fields. In the international section, non-Iranian students were also accepted for studies in various fields, including medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy.
Appointment of a new president
Dr. Mahdi Ramezani was appointed as the new head of the International Branch.
Converting the International Branch into Vice Chancellor
The organizational structure of the International Branch was changed to the status of a vice-chancellor. Also, Dr. Alireza Soltanian was appointed as the first vice-chancellor for international affairs of the university.
Obtaining MBBS license
Through the efforts made since the establishment of the International Branch, Hamadan University of Medical Sciences was finally included in the list of world medical schools with MBBS license in March 2023.
Appointment of Second Deputy
One year after the establishment of the International Vice Chancellor, Dr. Seyed Abedin Hosseini Ahangari was appointed as the second Vice President for International Affairs of the university.
