Passport Front Page Scan Guide

One of the most important parts of registering a visa application is uploading a scan of the first page of your visa. The following information can help you to create a suitable and acceptable scan. Although the acceptance of the scan of the first page of your passport is the responsibility of the mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran that you choose to obtain a visa, the system will refuse to accept scans that do not meet the following requirements.

To prepare the scan of the first page of your passport according to the required standards, it is recommended to use one of the professional photo editing software.

The scan of the first page of your passport must:

Be in color. Black and white and monochrome photos may be rejected.

Be in jpg or jpeg format.

Have a size equal to or less than 500 KB and a maximum of 10 KB.

Contain only the first page.

Be horizontal in such a way that the width of the image is greater than its height.

Have a resolution of 800 (minimum width) by 600 (minimum height) pixels.

Be of high quality.

It should not be too dark or too light.

It should be horizontal so that it is parallel to the edges of the screen.

All writing on it should be clearly visible. Any smudges that distort the writing may cause the application to be rejected.

Your personal photo scan should:

Be in color. Black and white and monochrome photos may be rejected.

Be in jpg or jpeg format.

Be equal to or less than 500 KB and more than 10 KB in size.

Be vertical so that its height is greater than its width.

Have a resolution of 400 (minimum width) by 600 (minimum height) pixels.

Must have been taken within the last 6 months and match your current appearance.

Have a completely plain and bright background.

Face should be directly facing the camera.

With no particular facial expression and eyes open.

Be taken in clothing that you wear on a daily basis.

Apart from religious clothing worn on a daily basis, photos in uniform will not be accepted.

No hat. The face must be clearly visible and head coverings such as scarves must not cover or cast shadows on the face.

Headphones, wireless hands-free devices, and similar items are not acceptable in the photo.

Wearing glasses in the photo is not acceptable except in specific medical conditions. If glasses are worn for medical reasons, the following must be observed:

The frame of the glasses must not cover the eyes.

The glasses must not obscure or obscure the eyes.

Any shadow or reflection of the flash light from the lens of the glasses that obscures the eyes will not be acceptable.

Photos scanned from passports, driver's licenses, etc. will not be accepted. In addition, photos taken using mobile phones or similar low-quality devices will be rejected.
