The Office of the Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs at Hamedan University of Medical Sciences reported another valuable achievement on the path to excellence in medical education: obtaining a four-year accreditation certificate for the General Medicine and MBBS program, which was realized after the successful conduct of the external evaluation process by the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education in November 2025 (Aban 1404).

According to the Public Relations report of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs, this success is the result of the university's continuous efforts and targeted planning aimed at improving the educational system, enhancing clinical infrastructure, and increasing the quality of service delivery to international students. The evaluation process, which was held in two phases (opening and closing), was met with the full welcome and cooperation of all university departments, including educational, research, student, and treatment areas.

Dr. Seyed Abedin Hosseini Ahangari, the Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs, stated in this regard: "The external evaluation, conducted by a team of experienced experts from the Ministry of Health, was a valuable opportunity for a precise analysis of the strengths and identification of areas for improvement in the MBBS educational program. The evaluators' field visits to classrooms, specialized laboratories, the central library, teaching hospitals, as well as welfare facilities such as dormitories and sports halls, demonstrated the university's serious determination to provide optimal educational and welfare standards to non-Iranian students."

Referring to the importance of this four-year certificate, he added: "A four-year accreditation is considered the highest level of accreditation in the Ministry of Health's evaluation system and indicates the full compliance of the structures, processes, and educational outcomes of the MBBS program with national and international criteria. This success, in addition to consolidating the position of Hamedan University of Medical Sciences as one of the reputable poles of medical education in the west of the country, will significantly increase the trust and attractiveness of this university for attracting international students."

The Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs further emphasized the university's strategic approach to utilizing the results of this evaluation and said: "Our view of this success is not as an end point, but as the beginning of a new path for continuous quality improvement. The constructive feedback and the final report of the evaluation team, which includes practical and operational suggestions, will be used as a precise roadmap to address potential shortcomings and further strengthen the strengths of the MBBS program. This action is considered a significant step towards achieving the goals of internationalization and enhancing the global standing of Hamedan University of Medical Sciences."

In conclusion, Dr. Hosseini Ahangari, while appreciating the sincere cooperation of all university units, especially the International Accreditation and Ranking Management, the educational and student affairs departments, and also the teaching hospitals, noted that this success is the fruit of collective synergy and the support of the university's top management, and promises a brighter future for the university's academic community in national and transnational arenas.
