The Second International Student Cultural and Sports Olympiad was held from July 18, 2024, to July 26, 2024, for one week, with the participation of over 1000 international students from universities across the country, hosted by the city of Qazvin and Imam Khomeini International University. The opening ceremony of the Second International Student Cultural and Sports Olympiad commenced in Qazvin with the parade of participating teams and the lighting of the Olympiad torch. This event saw the presence of Dadashpour, the Deputy Minister of Science and the Head of the National Student Affairs Organization, at the Nations Square of Imam Khomeini International University in Qazvin. He emphasized that sports are the best means to strengthen social and political connections and enhance international friendships. Foreign students studying in Iran are the best ambassadors to convey the culture of the Iranian revolution, and it is hoped that they will leave Iran with valuable experiences and become messengers of peace and friendship. In this Olympiad, male and female international students from the International Affairs Division of Hamedan University of Medical Sciences participated in futsal, table tennis, chess, badminton, and physical fitness. Additionally, five international students from the university took part in the Olympiad parade. This Olympiad featured over 1000 students from 50 nationalities and 40 universities competing in 10 sports disciplines. During this event, 375 gold, silver, and bronze medals were awarded to international athletes from universities across the country who achieved top ranks in 10 sports disciplines and various categories. It is noteworthy that, in addition to the sports competitions, where athletes competed under the slogan "Sports: A Common Language," diverse cultural programs and tours of Qazvin for the international student sports teams were also organized, which were well received by the participants. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Olympiad statuette was presented to the Hamedan University of Medical Sciences.
