A graduation ceremony for international students of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences was held with the presence of the Vice Chancellor for International Affairs, along with university officials and faculty members. During the ceremony, a group of Iraqi MBBS students, after years of study and effort, successfully completed their academic program. The event symbolized the university’s international educational and cultural cooperation with other countries.

The graduation ceremony of 12 international MBBS students was held at the Ghadir International Conference Center of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences, with the presence of the President of the University, the Vice Chancellor for International Affairs, faculty members, staff, and the families of the students.

"Eland Omar Mahmoud", a non-Iranian student in the School of Pharmacy at Hamadan University of Medical Sciences, successfully defended his general doctoral thesis, making history as the first non-Iranian student at the faculty to achieve this stage. He was able to achieve a perfect score (excellent) with a brilliant presentation in this defense session, which was held in the presence of representatives of the university's International Affairs Office. This event is considered a milestone in the internationalization of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences.

According to the Public Relations Office of the International Affairs Department, an orientation session for new students enrolled in the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program was held to familiarize them with the educational systems and academic processes at the School of Medicine. The session included a detailed explanation of how to use the Hamava system and access academic regulations.

Dr. Salvi Kazemipour Khabazi has been appointed as the new Acting Director of Educational, Research, and Student Affairs of the International Affairs Deputy. According to the Public Relations Office of the International Affairs Deputy, a farewell and introduction ceremony was held for the directors of educational, research, and student affairs of this deputy, attended by managers and experts.

The Specialized Committee meeting of the Deputy for International Affairs at Hamadan University of Medical Sciences was held on Saturday, June 8, 2025, to address the most important issues related to educational, research, and student affairs, with the presence of the Deputy for International Affairs, managers, and relevant experts.

For the first time, international students at Hamadan University of Medical Sciences participated in a memorable recreational-cultural camp, visiting Ali Sadr Cave, the largest navigable water cave in the world, and the Nature Village Zoo. This event, aimed at boosting morale and familiarizing international students with the natural and tourist attractions of Iran, was met with significant enthusiasm from the students.

According to the Public Relations of the International Affairs Department, a specialized meeting of the Accreditation Committee was held focusing on planning for the re-evaluation of medical programs. This meeting was convened following the cancellation of the external evaluation for the MBBS program, which was scheduled for May 14 and 15. The new evaluation for the General Medicine program will take place simultaneously with the MBBS program in July of this year.

A meeting was held in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences, the head of the accreditation working group of the Faculty of Medicine, the director of Besat Hospital, and the hospital's deputies, along with managers and experts. This meeting addressed the educational, cultural, and scientific challenges faced by non-Iranian students and the MBBS program accreditation process.
